Studio Abaca

Studio Abaca fibre comes from trees of the banana leaf family, reaching heights of four to eight metres. The fibre is extracted from the stalk of the plant, which has a smooth and lustrous texture. Characteristically it is flexible, has a very high tensile strength, and offers extreme durability. We select only the highest quality leaf fibre to be carefully hand crafted into a spectacular and diverse range of weaves in a selection of natural colours. Complementing Floorspaces already extensive range of natural fibre floorcoverings, the Studio Abaca range is also fully sustainable and biodegradable. Studio Abaca rugs and runners are suited to a variety of project applications: domestic, retail, public or commercial environments. The Studio Abaca team will work closely with you to design and tailor a unique rug or runner to your specifications. With Studio Abaca, you can create your signature Abaca rug by specifying a Pantone colour,* creating a stunning result that is completely unique and as individual as your project (see page 25). Studio Abaca rugs are versatile enough to be used in a variety of spaces. They are ideal for areas of leisure and relaxation, be it indoor or outdoor (see Frequently Asked Questions on page 27).
