Can Studio Abaca rugs go outside? Yes – they can be used for outdoor living spaces that are largely covered, can withstand light showers and will happily dry in the sun. It is particularly resistant to salt water (as is commonly used for fishing nets). Quality Control Check For your peace of mind, all rugs are inspected in the Floorspace factory prior to dispatch to your clients. What is the deposit amount for a custom Abaca rug? Whether it is a natural or Pantone rug the deposit amount is 65% of the total. The balance will be due after our Quality Control check in our Floorspace factory and before dispatch to your client. How thick are Studio Abaca weaves? These range from approximately 7mm to 20mm in thickness. Braids being the thickest. Maintenance To maintain the unique qualities of your Studio Abaca rug, we recommend vacuuming once a week to lift any fine dust and dirt from the fibres. We recommend using a standard vacuum with a strong airflow. With everyday spills, the key is to address the spill at the time of the incident to reduce absorption. However, in the event this does occur, blot up as much moisture as you can with a clean, dry, white cloth, then air dry with a fan. With spills such as coffee and red wine, blot up as much as possible and then drip a little soda water onto the affected area and continue blotting. This will help flush out the spill. Dry with a fan beyond touch dry, to dry through all the fibres. You can also dry your abaca rug in the sun if no rain is forecast. Colourfastness Studio Abaca uses the highest quality colour dyes. However, the colour of our products will naturally change over time. Due to the extreme nature of UV in Australia, we cannot give a guarantee against the effects of UV light on our products. Depending upon the nature of the application, UV light will result in the material changing colour to some degree. Studio Abaca offers a 100% Natural Spray Protection which is applied after passing the Quality Control Check. The Natural Spray Protection will NOT affect the colour, texture or tone of the rug.
